NATRUE’s activities can be grouped into three main areas:
All three areas are interlinked and contribute to our mission: promote and protect Natural and Organic Cosmetics to the benefit of consumers worldwide.
Advocacy: If cosmetics are well regulated worldwide and “organic” refers to the strict regulation of agricultural processing, it could be presumed that Natural and Organic Cosmetics would be well defined. However, this is not the case as these two legislations are not interlinked.
However, NATRUE gets its message across where it counts most. Over time, we have built strong relationships with the European institutions. Consequently, whenever emerging or evolving regulations are under discussion, NATRUE is in a position to assess the impact it will have on the sector and agree on an appropriate course of action and contribute to the discussions accordingly always bearing in mind consumers’ expectations and sectorial needs.
Label: NATRUE helps consumers identify which products are truly natural and organic in a sector which still lacks a legal and harmonized definition.
Research: NATRUE pools resources to investigate scientific issues of concern. Being an association, we gather the expertise of different companies, institutions and other associations helping the sector position itself with regards to specific ingredients of concern.
