Hello!
I am a retailer for natural cosmetics from Slovenia. I like your new site very much.
New NaTrue labels replaced old one with strars. I have some questions about this issue. How should I present products (for example on my website) at this point as products still use old labels? Old labels, only new or both? What kind of new labels should be used (with or without description)? How long will old labels still stay on products, is there a "deadline" for producers to change labeling?
Thank you for your answers and keep up the good work!
Tadej
Dear Tadej,
We will be seeing less and less of the old logos: all newly certified products have to use the new logo. Products already certified can still use the old one but should switch to the new logo when they have used up their pre-printed packaging. (Companies are allowed to use the old logo for a while yet because we don't want to oblige them to throw away printed materials - for cost and environmental reasons.)
For your website (or other communications), we would recommend that you use the new logo and, ideally, all three logos with their text
descriptions:
1. Natural,
2. Natural Cosmetics with Organic Portion
3. Organic Cosmetics.
If you still have a lot of products with star-logos in stock, please feel free to also show the old logos on your website. In this case, we would recommend that you make clear that these are the old logos that will soon disappear.
For background information: we changed the logos because the stars were confusing to people. Consumers in different countries had different interpretations of the stars and many didn't know what they stood for.
Our new logo has no stars but companies can indicate the certification level with the corresponding English wording. They can also use the plain NATRUE logo (without wording). In this case, consumers can easily verify the certification level of each product here on our website under "products". We also have a mobile version (m.natrue.org) so that consumers can verify this on their mobile phone in the shop!
