Our QR tag demonstration at Biofach / Vivaness got a lot of attention. It showed the great potential that this technology holds for natural and organic producers and retailers.

Our visitors were impressed with how fast the product information displays on the mobile phone.
Rebecca shows the concept in this video, also featuring Gunnar Böke of conVisual, the company who built the QR tag system for us.
We are very happy with the positive feedback. QR code readers are not on everybody's phone yet but they are easy to download via the app stores. It won't be long until many people use this technology on a daily basis.
For natural and organic companies (and not only cosmetics) this is a great way to show how authentic you and your products are.

Hello Julie !
First I want to say that it was great meeting all of you by Biofach (where was Francesca...? I hope meeting her in another occasion !)
I find really great this QR technology, really impressive !! And so practical to get a lot of informations that you could not write on a little sticker on the product.
Here a question and maybe idea that I was discussing with Gunnar :
Does real bio, öko people will use this technology ? (some of my clients are already making strange faces when I speak about facebook...)
Here the idea : I think it will be great to have in the shops a kind of display with the NATRUE logo on it. On this display would be a kind of little screen where the people can scan the products they wish to get informations about (like the phone system).
And there we go ! Everybody can use this QR code also if they are not owner of a smart phone !!! (plus nice big NATRUE logo in the shop on the display).
Have a nice evening you all, Laura.

Hi Laura, it was great meeting you at Biofach, too and I hope you enjoyed the remaining time there. :-) I obviously totally agree with you that QR codes are the way forward. It will make all products equipped with such a code stand out from the rest and is the first proper way of giving consumers the possibility to be informed about the true level of natural and organic ingredients used to make this product directly at the point of sale. However I think that your idea of placing a screen with all products and their QR codes next to a shelf in a shop will be very difficult to realise. Normally it costs a lot of money to get extra display space in a shop and extra costs is what can be avoided with the printing of the QR codes on the products directly. I do understand your worry of the typical natural cosmetic client not being equipped with a modern smartphone but all statistics show that the distribution of modern smartphones in urban but also in rural areas is growing dramatically. The more QR codes we will place on the products the faster people will recognise them and use them. I am absolutely convinced of that. :-)

Dear Laura,
Thanks for your comments! I have to say I agree with Gunnar in that your suggestion would most probably be too expensive to implement in reality, especially for smaller shops of which there are many! HOWEVER I do believe that every shop owner/Assistant/sales person has a cell or an I-phone and that they could provide a demonstration at the point of sale! Natural cosmetics are a natural choice and should provide the same on the spot services to consumers at the POS as conventional cosmetics - here it would be less work for the sales person because all it takes is a click and the product speak for itself and... it NEVER gets the message wrong or forgets a vital element :-)!!

Dear Laura! I cannot believe that we didn't meet each other!!!! I was always walking around meeting NATRUE Label Users and NATRUE Approved Certifiers and I missed you!
I am really happy that you like the QR Tags, actually we had many positive feedbacks on that! :-)

Reading the ingredient list of cosmetic products isn't easy. And it doesn't make shopping fun. We want to change that.
