Organic Monitor will hold its first Sustainable Cosmetics Summit in Asia in November and that is very good news.

The Sustainable Cosmetics Summits are valuable because they give cosmetic companies the information and tools they need to make truly natural cosmetics and to green their business.
In Asia this is particularly important because very few companies in the region are yet involved in the production and marketing of natural & organic cosmetics – despite the fact that the continent has over 3.5 million hectares of organic farmland. Indeed, the continent has become a major source of ingredients for natural cosmetic products by companies in other parts of the world.
So why are Asian producers lagging behind? The main reason is a lack of technical know-how and expertise in green formulations. It's important to fill the gap. The summit should help to do that and we are happy to be one of the supporting organisations.
The event takes place on 7 & 8 November in Hong Kong.
For more information see the summit's website.
