A shampoo cleanses your hair. Body oils or tooth pastes have entirely different functions.
They are formulated and manufactured in different ways. They need different rules.
We distinguish product categories to make sure that every product is as natural as possible. These four examples show how different the requirements are:

A body oil nourishes the skin and keeps it hydrated.
Body oils are very pure. They must be made with high levels of vegetable oil directly sourced from nature.
Lavender for example, is famous for its soothing and healing properties. It also has a calming and tension-relieving effect on the mind.
Essential rose oil helps reduce broken capillaries and promotes cell renewal. Its aroma is calming and helps to balance emotional ups and downs.

Face creams have multiple functions. Unlike oils, they contain oil and water.
These two substances do not mix without help: emulsifiers are required to make the product homogenous. Facial creams therefore need different rules than body oils.

A shampoo’s primary purpose is to cleanse our hair and scalp.
The cleansing effect cannot be achieved by simply mixing natural ingredients.
Surfactants are required but not found in nature as such. Natural ingredients have to undergo a chemical reaction to produce ‘surfactants’. Stringent rules must be applied. Only a limited number of chemical processes are allowed.

Make-up is yet again a completely different type of cosmetic product.
Here we enter the world of colours: Pigments (such as iron oxides) are necessary. They are natural but not vegetal. Again, they require specific rules.
In each category, different strict minimum natural and maximum derived natural thresholds for ingredients apply guaranteeing maximal naturalness = the NATRUE quality guarantee.
Read on and learn about permitted ingredients and processes.
We certify three levels, which depend on the ingredients they contain: are they natural or are they also cultivated organically?
It is equally important that plant ingredients are treated with care and not processed in chemically intensive ways.
