NATRUE

How to certify?

Firstly, we invite you to read carefully the information below so that you can have a comprehensive overview of the necessary requirements to obtain the NATRUE Label.

Required steps

  • Read and understand the NATRUE Criteria to internally assess how to formulate according to the NATRUE Standard (or reformulate in case of already existing products). You can find the Standard and the corresponding Annexes below.
  • Get in touch with a NATRUE Approved Certifier (NAC), who will be in charge of the whole certification process. NATRUE does not certify directly. We work with a network of independent certification bodies worldwide. We believe that this ensures a greater level of transparency to our standard. We suggest you to get in touch with 2 or 3 certifiers and inquiry directly about costs and availability. You can find the list of NACs here.

As soon as you formally enter into cooperation with a NATRUE Approved Certifier you will need to sign and send back to NATRUE the Agreement on the Usage of the NATRUE label, which is our contract. You can download it at the end of this page.

Please do not forget to have a look at the costs before you start the official certification process. There are two sets of costs:

  • Certification costs: invoiced entirely by the certifier and subject to the certification body you decide to work with.
  • NATRUE label fee: 200 euros/product for a 2-year certificate. If you want to certify more than 100 products, then the label fee is 160 euros/product for a 2-year certificate.

To help you understand the whole certification procedure you can find below a flow chart where the whole process is visually explained step by step.

Should you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Cécile Zumbiehl (Label & Events Officer) at czumbiehl@natrue.eu.
