History and foundation

A comprehensive knowledge of people and nature was Rudolf Steiner's development goal. He called the study of the many different interrelationships in our world anthroposophy, the wisdom of humankind. This paved the way for anthroposophic medicine and holistic natural cosmetics. A pharmaceutical laboratory was founded in 1921 to concentrate on these fields. It was given the name of a Germanic healer priestess: Weleda.

Philosophy

What keeps people healthy? This question forms the basis for developing our pharmaceutical and natural cosmetic products. Weleda researches and uses the powers of nature to help people lead a healthy and balanced life.

Quality

We only use selected raw materials in the production of our care products and pharmaceuticals, which are sourced from biodynamic cultivation or certified wild sources wherever possible. We carefully monitor every step in production, from cultivation through to harvesting and processing. Therefore, we only use the best - and you can tell. With no added synthetic fragrances, dyes or preservatives, our care products achieve an outstanding level of quality. Their efficacy and product quality has been recognised through many different awards and prizes.

Employees

At Weleda, the focus is on people. This also applies to our approximately 1,900 employees on five continents and in over 50 countries. We place great value on vocational and advanced training. There are also numerous provisions aimed at maintaining a balance between work and family. For example, company-run childcare facilities, where employees can leave their children while they work, knowing that they will be well cared for.

Weleda uses around 1,000 natural raw materials for its products. Roses and pomegranates from Turkey, iris and argan oil from Morocco, sesame oil from Mexico and lemons from Argentina and Italy are just a few examples. All around the world, Weleda promotes biodiversity and supports bio-certified and socially sustainable cultivation projects.

Fair trade

When sourcing raw materials, Weleda works together with local partners around the world - for example small-scale farming initiatives. Fair payment and good training are particularly important to us as part of this.

Biodynamic cultivation

The company's own biodynamic cultivation of medicinal plants has a long tradition. In addition to the gardens in Switzerland and France, Schwäbisch Gmünd in Germany is primarily the central production site for plant extracts. Here, in the largest medicinal plant garden in Europe, around 260 species are cultivated, including calendula and euphrasia.

Climate neutrality

We aim for CO2-neutral transport of goods and post. The conversion to renewable energies, environmentally friendly construction and compensation projects - for example, with the Dutch composting company Soil&More - contribute towards reducing greenhouse emissions and, therfore, towards optimising our ecological footprint.

We have placed great value on acting in harmony with nature and the human being since 1921. We thus combine our anthroposophical knowledge of plants and people with well-founded pharmaceutical knowledge. This is a philosophy that has created effective care and pharmaceutical products for 90 years, products that are ideally tailored to individual requirements - for general well-being and balance between body and soul. Our range is as varied as nature itself. The Weleda facial-care range provides skin with stimuli that are optimally tailored to specific skin requirements. Our nutrient-rich body-care products - from fragrant oils to creamy lotions - ensure well-being from head to toe. Deodorants and dental-care products have been added to our product range, as well as a care range for mothers and children - ideal products for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Geschichte und Gründung

Die umfassende Menschen- und Naturerkenntnis war das Entwicklungsziel Rudolf Steiners. Die Erforschung der vielfältigen Zusammenhänge in unserer Welt nannte er Anthroposophie, die Weisheit vom Menschsein. Daraus entstanden die anthroposophische Medizin und ganzheitliche Naturkosmetik. 1921 wurde hierfür ein pharmazeutischer Laborbetrieb gegründet. Er erhielt den Namen einer heilkundigen, germanischen Priesterin: Weleda.

Philosophie

Was hält den Menschen gesund? Von dieser Frage gehen wir bei der Entwicklung unserer Arzneimittel und Naturkosmetikprodukte aus. Weleda erforscht und nutzt die Kräfte der Natur, um Menschen bei einem gesunden und ausgeglichenen Leben zu unterstützen.

Qualität

Für die Herstellung unserer Pflegeprodukte und Arzneimittel setzen wir nur ausgewählte Rohstoffe ein, die wo immer möglich aus biologisch-dynamischem Anbau oder zertifizierter Wildsammlung stammen. Dabei kontrollieren wir vom Anbau über die Ernte bis zur Verarbeitung sorgfältig jeden Schritt. So verwenden wir nur das Beste – und das spürt man. Ohne den Zusatz von synthetischen Duft-, Farb- und Konservierungsstoffen erreichen unsere Pflegeprodukte ein herausragendes Qualitätsniveau. Sie sind in Wirksamkeit und Produktgüte vielfach prämiert.

Mitarbeitende

Bei Weleda steht der Mensch im Mittelpunkt. Das gilt auch für unsere rund 1900 Mitarbeitenden in über 50 Ländern auf fünf Kontinenten. Auf Aus- und Weiterbildungen legen wir großen Wert. Und um Beruf und Familie in Balance zu halten, gibt es zahlreiche Angebote. Zum Beispiel firmenbetriebene Kindertagesstätten, in denen die Mitarbeitenden ihre Kinder während ihrer Arbeitszeit gut betreut wissen.

Umweltverträgliche Rohstoffgewinnung und -verarbeitung

Weleda verwendet rund 1000 natürliche Rohstoffe für ihre Produkte. Rosen und Granatäpfel aus der Türkei, Iris und Arganöl aus Marokko, Sesamöl aus Mexiko und Zitronen aus Argentinien und Italien sind nur einige davon. Weltweit fördert Weleda die Biodiversität und unterstützt biozertifizierte und sozial nachhaltige Anbauprojekte.

Fairer Handel

Bei der Rohstoffgewinnung arbeitet Weleda weltweit mit lokalen Partnern zusammen, zum Beispiel Kleinbauerninitiativen. Faire Entlohnung und gute Weiterbildungen sind uns dabei besonders wichtig.

Biologisch-dynamischer Anbau

Der firmeneigene biologisch-dynamische Heilpflanzenanbau hat Tradition. Neben den Gärten in der Schweiz und in Frankreich gilt vor allem der in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Deutschland, als zentraler Produktionsort für Pflanzenextrakte. In diesem größten Heilpflanzengarten Europas werden etwa 260 Arten, darunter Calendula und Euphrasia, angebaut.

Klimaneutralität

Wir streben einen CO2-neutralen Waren- und Posttransport an. Die Umstellung auf erneuerbare Energien, umweltbewusstes Bauen sowie Kompensationsprojekte, beispielsweise mit dem niederländischen Kompostierungsunternehmen Soil&More, tragen zur Reduktion von Treibhaus-emissionen und damit zur Optimierung unseres ökologischen Fußabdruckes bei.

Historique et création

Pour Rudolf Steiner, le but de l’évolution était la connaissance de l’être humain et de la nature dans leur globalité. Il appela Anthroposophie – sagesse de l’humain -  l’exploration des multiples interrelations au sein de notre monde.  En sont issues la médecine anthroposophique et la cosmétique naturelle globale, pour lesquelles fut fondé en 1921 un laboratoire pharmaceutique. Celui-ci fut appelé Weleda, le nom donné aux femmes pratiquant l’art de guérir dans la culture celtique.

Philosophie

Qu’est-ce qui maintient l’être humain en bonne santé ? Cette question est notre point de départ pour développer nos médicaments et nos produits de cosmétique naturelle. Weleda explore et utilise les forces de la nature pour contribuer à une vie saine et équilibrée de l’être humain.

Qualité

Pour la fabrication de nos produits de soin et de nos médicaments, nous utilisons uniquement des matières premières sélectionnées, qui, chaque fois que c’est possible, sont issues de cultures biodynamiques ou de cueillettes certifiées. Nous contrôlons avec soin  chaque étape, depuis la mise en culture et la récolte, jusqu’à la transformation. Ainsi, nous utilisons uniquement le meilleur et cela se perçoit. Sans adjonction de substances synthétiques -  parfums, colorants ou conservateurs – nos produits de soin atteignent un niveau de qualité exceptionnel. Leur efficacité et leur qualité ont été primées à plusieurs reprises.

Collaborateurs

Chez Weleda, c’est l’être humain qui est au centre. Cela vaut également pour nos quelques 1900 collaborateurs répartis dans plus de 50 pays sur cinq continents. Nous accordons une grande importance aux formations continues. Afin de maintenir l’équilibre entre travail et famille existent des offres nombreuses. Par exemple, des lieux d’accueil de jour pour les enfants, gérés par l’entreprise, dans lesquels les collaborateurs savent leurs enfants entre de bonnes mains pendant leur temps de travail.

Weleda pratique le développement durable depuis 1921. Depuis sa création, notre entreprise exerce sa responsabilité écologique, sociale et économique.

Approvisionnement et transformation de nos matières premières dans le respect de l’environnement

Weleda utilise environ 1000 matières premières naturelles pour ses produits. Roses et grenades de Turquie, iris et huile d’argan du Maroc, huile de sésame du Mexique et citrons d’Argentine et d’Italie ne sont que quelques exemples. Weleda promeut à travers le monde la biodiversité et soutient des projets de cultures certifiées biologiques et socialement durables.

Commerce équitable

Pour son approvisionnement en matières premières, Weleda travaille à travers le monde avec des partenaires locaux comme, par exemple, des initiatives de petites exploitations agricoles. Ce faisant, des prix équitables et des formations appropriées nous importent particulièrement.

Agriculture biodynamique

Nos propres mises en culture biodynamique de plantes médicinales sont une tradition de longue date. A côté de nos jardins en Suisse et en France, celui de Schwäbisch Gmünd en Allemagne est un lieu de production d’extraits végétaux d’importance centrale. Dans ce jardin de plantes médicinales, le plus grand d’Europe, sont cultivées 260 espèces, parmi lesquelles le calendula et l’euphrasia.

Neutralité climatique

Nous cherchons à atteindre la neutralité en CO2 dans les transports aussi bien de marchandises que postaux. Le passage à des énergies renouvelables, des constructions écologiques ainsi que des projets de compensation, comme par exemple avec l’entreprise néerlandaise de compostage Soil&More,  contribuent à la réduction d’émissions à effet de serre et donc à diminuer notre empreinte écologique.

Storia e fondazione

L’obiettivo di Rudolf Steiner, il fondatore, era la conoscenza approfondita dell’essere umano e della natura. Chiamò lo studio delle diverse interazioni presenti nel mondo Antroposofia, conoscenza dell’essere umano. Ciò ha aperto la strada alla medicina antroposofica e alla produzione di cosmetici naturali ed olistici. Nel 1921 venne fondato un laboratorio farmaceutico, da cui è nata l’azienda Weleda, il cui nome trae spunto da una sacerdotessa e guaritrice germanica.

Filosofia

Cosa mantiene sano l’essere umano? Da questa domanda partiamo con lo sviluppo dei nostri medicinali e cosmetici naturali. Weleda studia e si avvale delle risorse che la natura mette a disposizione per poter offrire all’essere umano benessere generale ed equilibrio tra corpo e mente.

Qualità

Per la produzione dei nostri rimedi e dei prodotti per la cura della persona, utilizziamo esclusivamente materie prime selezionate, provenienti, ove sia possibile, da coltivazioni biologiche, biodinamiche o da raccolta spontanea certificata. Monitoriamo, con estrema attenzione, ogni fase del processo produttivo: dalla coltivazione alla raccolta, fino alla lavorazione. Usiamo, quindi, solo il meglio – e questo lo si può vedere.
Senza l’aggiunta di profumi sintetici, coloranti o conservanti, i nostri prodotti per la cura della persona raggiungono straordinari livelli di efficacia e qualità, che vengono spesso riconosciuti e valorizzati anche attraverso premi prestigiosi.

Per Weleda la persona è al centro dell’attenzione: questo vale anche per i 1900 collaboratori siti in oltre 50 Paesi dei 5 continenti. Attribuiamo grande valore alla formazione professionale. Inoltre al fine di accrescere la diffusione della cultura dei diritti dei lavoratori e delle pari opportunità, Weleda Italia ha ottenuto la certificazione SA8000, standard internazionale a cui le organizzazioni che volontariamente aderiscono, forniscono assoluta garanzia di eticità della propria filiera produttiva e del proprio ciclo produttivo.

In accordo con uomo e natura

Weleda è sostenibilità dal 1921. Fin dalla sua fondazione, la nostra azienda ha posto grande attenzione alla responsabilità sociale, ambientale ed economica:

Rispettosa dell’ambiente nel processo di approvvigionamento e trasformazione delle materie prime.

Weleda utilizza circa 1000 materie prime di origine naturale per i suoi prodotti. Rose e melograni dalla Turchia, iris ed olio di argan dal Marocco, olio di sesamo proveniente dal Messico e limoni dall’Italia e dall’Argentina, sono solo alcuni esempi. Nell’approvvigionamento delle materie prime, Weleda collabora con partner locali in tutto il mondo, ad esempio con cooperative di piccoli agricoltori. Un’equa retribuzione ed una buona esperienza sono per noi molto importanti.

Coltivazione biodinamica

Weleda possiede una lunga tradizione nella coltivazione biodinamica delle piante officinali. Oltre ai giardini siti in Svizzera e Francia, è soprattutto Schwäbisch Gmünd in Germania, il luogo centrale per la produzione degli estratti vegetali. Qui, nel più grande giardino di piante officinali d’Europa, vengono coltivate circa 260 specie di piante, tra cui calendula ed eufrasia.

Minor impatto climatico

Il nostro obiettivo è far sì che il trasporto di beni abbia il minimo impatto ambientale. Il passaggio alle energie rinnovabili, l’edilizia ecosostenibile ed i progetti di compensazione – per esempio la Soil&More, azienda tedesca specializzata nella trasformazione di rifiuti organici in compost- contribuiscono alla riduzione dell’effetto serra, ottimizzando quindi anche la nostra impronta ecologica.
