NATRUE has been at Natural & Organic Products Europe (NOPEX), which took place from 3 to 4 April 2022 in London (UK). The two-day event featured over 800 exhibiting companies, from natural beauty to personal care, through to vegan and organic food.

NOPE welcomed more than 7,400 attendees and received over 1,000 major buyers representing retailers from more than 70 countries. In this edition, NATRUE hosted a variety of products on its stand from NATRUE certified brands: Dr. Hauschka, Weleda, Trilogy & Primavera, four committed brands that truly meet consumer expectations when shoppers are looking for natural and/or organic cosmetics.

The NATRUE stand provided an information hub to allow exchange with industry pioneers and discover new ranges hand-in-hand with promoting a raised awareness of the organization including its advocacy activities, and its label criteria requirements that set benefits for consumers, manufacturers, and retailers alike.

In addition, brands that carry the NATRUE Label featured throughout the exhibition hall -including Weleda, Lavera, and Ben & Anna, each of them showcasing their latest launches, new product developments, and innovations in the world of natural and organic cosmetics.

Jayn Sterland, Chair of the Sustainable Beauty Coalition, presented a panel discussion in which Dr. Mark Smith, NATRUE’s Director General, participated together with

  • Jo-Anne Chidley – Co-Founder, Beauty Kitchen & Return, Refill, Reuse.
  • Adam Garfunkel – Co-owner, Junxion
  • Victoria Brownlie – Chief Policy Officer, British Beauty Council
  • Joanne Cooke – Trading Director Beauty, Holland & Barrett.

Future-proofing for planet-positive business”’ was a lively debate that discussed how a business must adapt its strategy to collaborate and commit to operating sustainably within planetary boundaries before it’s too late, and the concept that for consumers making the better choice does mean that the choice need be unaffordable. The panel highlighted some of the current challenges such as working together to protect consumers, or opting for more reusable packaging.

In addition, during both days the programme of talks addressed topics such as why natural and organic certification is important for brands and consumers, how to empower shoppers through ethical insights, how the UK regulatory landscape for cosmetics works and what are the latest Sustainability Trends in the beauty industry.
